Gilda Kiwua Notarbartolo is a certified Italian journalist and content creator from Naples, now based in Cambridge, UK. A natural storyteller, she moves fluidly between filmmaking, writing, and music, driven by a deep curiosity for art, culture, and human connection.

Before founding Italian Girl Touch, she spent several years as Manager at La Dante in Cambridge, a European cultural centre dedicated to promoting Italian, Spanish, and English language and heritage, and as Head of Radio Dante, where she oversaw editorial projects, interviews, and cultural programming. These roles strengthened her international perspective and her passion for building bridges between communities through communication.

Gilda holds a degree in Communication Science from the University Suor Orsola Benincasa, where she explored the role of irony in advertising, and later earned a Master’s in Film and TV Production at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, completing a dissertation on Quentin Tarantino’s distinctive use of music in cinema.

Her documentary Enlightened Windows, filmed in Cambridge, draws inspiration from Edward Hopper, Alfred Hitchcock, and contemporary urban visual culture. She has also completed a cinematic project inspired by The Castle of Otranto, the first gothic novel ever written, filmed between Horace Walpole’s Strawberry Hill House in the UK and the historic town of Otranto in Apulia, Italy.

Gilda thrives on contrasts — the new and the familiar, silence and noise, light and shadow — and finds inspiration in every place, encounter, and detail. For her, creativity is expression, refuge, and a way of seeing the world with curiosity and intention.
